ETL Systems, a global designer and manufacturer of RF signal distribution equipment for satellite communications, will be launching the GENUS 3U RF Distribution chassis at its virtual IBC tradeshow stand.
The ultra-compact Genus is the second generation of ETL’s popular modular chassis and is part of the wider Genus family. The high density, multi-module unit offers users the choice to house RF splitters, combiners, amplifiers, switches, RF Over Fibre modules all in the same 19” rack mounted chassis.
The new high capacity Genus RF distribution chassis is the latest addition to ETL’s growing range of RF products for the ground segment. Accommodating up to 17 RF modules in 5 different designs, which can be inserted whilst the shelf is in service, the Genus aims to provide greater flexibility and resilience for teleport operators.
The design of the Genus supports mission critical applications with plug and go technology from field replaceable RF modules and HMI to dual redundant hot-swap PSUs for easy maintenance in service. The Genus family offers improved RF signal management for LEO applications and future ground segment V/HTS requirements.
Ian Hilditch, CEO, ETL Systems, commented: “COVID-19 has caused a turbulent year but the satellite industry remains robust. I love attending IBC, meeting with new and existing customers, having the chance to introduce our new products and discuss market developments. But sadly, that is not possible this year. Instead we’re excited to virtually launch our new Genus habitat, which will provide a new way of thinking about RF distribution and signal management for teleport operators.”
ETL Systems will also demonstrate its new compact Falcon Frequency Converter range, which offers up and down conversion with integrated 1+1 or 2+1 hot-swap redundancy within the same chassis.
ETL Systems will be demonstrating the Genus 3U RF distribution chassis at their virtual IBC trade stand from 11th – 18th September.
